Aerith nodded in understanding, although she didn't consider herself an outsider. She knew all of the sectors better than many other people since she visited each one so often. But she knew that if anyone found out that a member of SOLDIER let someone not directly involved go with them on a mission things would get ugly.
"Alright. I won't tell anyone." She promised, switching the angle of her rod so it was easier to keep up with Ashley without it getting in the way. Her long braid swung behind her as she moved, her movements as graceful as ever. "And I agree. Why steal something from Sector 6? There haven't even been any thefts for a long time... it's so strange."

"Exactly. I guess that's why I've been sent ... It could have been one of the clones I've been hearing about but the General didn't really give me a lot of information about it." Ashley admitting, a slight frown coming to her face. Well she was the closest to it aswell, so it only made sense that the job was given to her.
Green eyes scanned the area as she walked along the musty path leading into the next sector. She doubted if the thief was still where she was told he was - he would have run elsewhere by now to escape the authorities and avoid arrest but it shouldn't be too hard to find them anyway, not with her mako enhanced senses.

The general? Who was that? Aerith wondered to herself. Probably someone extremely important in SOLDIER. The young woman looked around the area, seeing many places where a thief could go to hide. Especially if few people knew what he looked like.
Speaking of which, she turned her gaze to Ashley. "Do you have any idea what this person might look like?" she asked softly, in case anyone was trying to eavesdrop on their conversation. "If we know, it might by easier to track the thief down."

"Sadly, no. The general was a little vague on the details ... Not much is known about this problem which is what makes it so important to be dealt with. I suppose what we're looking for is someone ... tall and quite strong, able to carry that money on his own. Probably well hidden behind layers of clothing too." Ashley spoke, her eyes looking skywards as she thought ... It was going to be troublesome just finding the culprit.
The SOLDIER was just a little annoyed too, as she caught sight of the entrance to the next sector. Why couldn't someone else have done this? Or atleast found out more before they gave her that mission anyway ... Someone like Zack would be up for it no doubt but then again ... That guy was somewhat a little hyper. Hardly ever took anything seriously.

Aerith looked at Ashley curiously for a minute, wondering what the other girl was thinking about. Deciding she wouldn't ask, she looked around. Well, that description really didn't give them much to go off of. There were probably more than a few people who could easily fit it, or least one similar to it.
"If you want me to guide your way through Sector 6, I can if you want. That is...if you need me to." She paused, a thought coming to her. Looking around warily, she looked back to Ashley lightly. "You seem...upset about this. This seems like it would be below your rank. Is that why?"

Ashley nodded. She didn't really know her way around the different sectors, she was used to being in the Shin-Ra HQ whenever she was needed there but she rarely visited the slums. Having a guide would be extremely helpful by all accounts. "Sure, it would be great if you could take me around ... I feel quite a bit lost here." She admitted, a fake smile coming to her lips.
And at the question she let a sigh slip out, and running a hand through her oddly coloured hair she glanced at Aerith a slight scowl showing. "You could say that ... I'm used to doing mercenary type jobs. If truth be told, I'm second in command of SOLDIER. But I suppose it was just more convenient to send me after the thief since I'm the closest."

Aerith smiled, glad that she would actually be of assistance and not just get in the way. She wasn't that great at fighting, despite having a weapon, so if it came down to a fight, the most she would be able to do is heal Ashley if she got injured. At the time, that didn't seem like much, although she did know how important healing was.
Her eyes widened when she heard exactly how high ranked the other girl was. It was pretty amazing; they were the same age, yes, but their difference in power and status was so different. "That's amazing that you made it so far in SOLDIER. They probably also thought, besides the fact that you were the closest, that you would easily be able to complete this task."

"Hmm I suppose so ... But really I think I just had enough drive to get so far. I grew up always wanting to join SOLDIER and to be near the General ... But I guess that sounds a little odd." Ashley stated, laughing a little nervously. She had never admitted to anyone thats why she joined Shin-Ra, they had all just presumed she liked the company and wanted to fight all the time, which while it may be true was not the whole reason.
"Hmm ... Maybe this is just more important than what Sephiroth told me. I think he likes playing mind games quite a lot." She added, gru, bling a little and shaking her head. It was just like him though ... To decline orders, boss people around mess with their heads just to cause amusement.

"Mmm-mmm. No, it doesn't sound strange at all. I wish there was someone that I felt so strongly for that I would change in order to be close to them." Aerith said softly, an almost wistful look taking over her eyes. It did sound nice; having someone, even if they didn't really acknowledge you in the way that you hoped for, to risk your life for, or do whatever was necessary to be near.
Looking around, she noticed that they had entered Sector 6. "Well, here we are. This is Sector 6; home of Don Corneo, and many of the more successful businesses in Midgar." She explained as her green eyes continued to survey the area.

Ashley smiled softly - Aerith understood her and best of all did not laugh. No doubt the other SOLDIERs would have but she would never tell them anything anyway. She usually did keep her feelings to herself anyway and she was only speaking to the cetra girl because well ... She was easy to talk to really.
And as they entered sector 6, cyan orbs scanned the new area, taking every sight in. It was a busy place indeed - shops, inns, bars ... And like Aerith said; home to Don Corneo, the dirty rat. Yes she had heard of the ... pervert. But it was funny how no-one even questioned his ways. She personally would like to teach him a lesson, but it was not her place. "Then our search starts here. The thief could be anywhere ..."

The brunette sighed, green eyes looking around the area nervously. Or perhaps it was more eagerly. Sector 6 was bigger than most, so there would be a lot of ground to cover. The shops, inn, bar...maybe even Don Corneo's. It was hard to tell where the thief might be trying to hide, and that made their job much more difficult.
Taking a deep breath, she let it out before smiling at Ashley. "So how do you suppose we should go about this? I can lead you, but I don't think I'm qualified to actually give orders." She said, voice light. "I was thinking we could try to lure him out."

Ashley watched the flower girl for a short while, contemplating what she had said. Lure out the thief? Well that could work. Ash hadn't really tried a tactic like that before; she was usually the type of person who threatened people for information on a suspect's location. Good thing she didn't really feel like hurting anybody today.
"Do you have a plan in mind to lure them out then?" She asked, her voice silky and yet quite demanding. It would probably scare young kids actually, but Ash never really thought about that anyway. She had to be commanding because of her job and rank.

Aerith winced, flushing a little. Have a...plan? Well, she could think of numerous possible suggestions she could give, but she just didn't feel like she should tell anyone what to do. It wasn't only that she wasn't qualified. She was afraid of what other people might say to her if she tried. Nibbling on her lower lip, she tried to think without letting herself get too distracted by Ash.
"Well... we could possibly spread rumors that I'm carrying a large amount of gil. Or you for that matter. But... I don't know if a thief would risk trying to steal from a member of SOLDIER. I doubt anyone would be that desperate, even in these days."
